Dear Owners
When your sitter does a bad job, for the sake of all the other pets out there, say so in the review. You're not helping anybody by sugarcoating or omitting things, or by not reviewing them at all. It doesn't matter if you think your sitter meant well or made an honest mistake, blah blah blah. None of that is for you to say, really. They could just be chronically shitty at this job and your HONEST review of their work could save their next potential client a lot of anxiety and money.
Especially around the holidays, people tend to want to give others the benefit of the doubt when it's simply not deserved. I've learned from my short time on this subreddit that there are a LOT of sitters gaming the system and treating Rover like any other gig work app. Your pets are not french fries, they deserve quality care and attention from someone who knows what they're doing and is happy to do it correctly.
The app is oversaturated with sitters as it is, can we please do a better job of weeding out the losers we've been seeing posted here lately? Because it's crushing my spirit a little bit.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
