Mostly gaming COD, 7900 xtx vs 4090

So like title says, I mostly play COD-games. I thought the 4090 was the undisputed king of GPUs, but from this YT vid from Hardware Unboxed - the 7900 xtx beats the 4090 with 27-28 % higher avg fps in 1440 P quality preset. My current gaming setup is a Legion 7, R7 7500h(?) + 3080 16 gb 165 w, connected to a mini-led TV with 4k @ 144 hz. In native resolution, 2560x1600 I get 100+ fps in multiplayer.

In my country a 7800x3d + 7900 xtx build is 1400 usd cheaper than a 14900k + 4090, and the premium on the new 5090 will be above by budget. Since the rumours say AMD is not releasing their new GPUs before 2026, I will be getting the new rig pretty soon. Once the 5090 is on the market in my country, the 4090 still won't be discounted enough to match the price of 7900 xtx anyways, so unless the 4090 is way ahead of 7900 in 4K res, this is a no-brainer, right? Besides a new gaming pc (instead of laptop), I'm going for an AW 3225QF 4k oled monitor. The premium for the Asus 32" oled monitors is like 400 usd more expensive than the AW, MSI 250 ++.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
