Resume

I heard a lot of recruiter talks that Number stand a lot more than words on resume. Like “Achieved year-on-year cost savings by 20%”, “yielding 59% user retention”’ etc. Like how does recruiter trust those numbers? Maybe an applicant could already lie from that. How do you research and make sure those numbers are correct?
