The floor in Tamara's room..

I mean even if there was nothing under it when Neal caught Emma searching Tamara's room, why didn't he think it was odd that Tamara had a hiding place like that in her hotel room at all ? Emma said "there's a floorboard loose that shouldn't be" and it definitely looked like someone would use it to hide something, why was he acting like it was a totally normal thing to find even if was empty lol
