File "locked" by another user/ restore previous version issue

My word is freaking out lately, I have downloaded word documents from my school to edit and saved it as a local copy. When I try to open the file it says, the files is locked by another user but my file is local. The next one is document recovery, it displays the document I want to open when I press on it, it just repeats the same process of giving me a blank screen and saying "which files do you want to keep".

Tried reinstalling word and microsoft 365

Tried repairing word

Tried using other documents that are not from school (still not working)

I can only make a new document
