Just been diagnosed with MS and have questions

TL;DR - I (37M) have been diagnosed with MS but wonder if my symptoms make sense in the MS context and if I should ask my doctor any questions. I.e. can I be sure it's really MS?

Hi! I went to see the neurologist last week and he said he's 99% sure I have MS. In terms of tests my MRI shows white matter lesions (he said one of them looks like a typical MS lesion) and my spinal fluid has 7 oligoclonal bands. He ordered a few more blood tests and MRIs to rule out everything else before providing official diagnosis.

In terms of symptoms, I've been experiencing constant (mostly dull) pain in my right side (back, front, groin, hip) since my late teens. It started with an episode of sharp sudden pain in the groin (went to several urologists and none of the tests showed anything abnormal at that point so the advice I got in the end was to just try and relax and not think about it). I also have depression and anxiety. Interestingly, I always felt worse in the hot and sunny weather but associated it with my depression.

Since some of the symptoms are in my right abdomen area I also did several GI tests according to which everything looked fine again.

I also had an episode of sudden numbness in the right side of my face a few years ago. It got better after a few weeks but still feels a little different from the left side (but not drastically different).

My right side in general feels very different than left although I didn't lose any sensitivity or strength as such. It just kinda feels weak/tense/stiff and more difficult to manage and control than my left side. E.g. I feel a lot of tightness around my ribcage, shoulder blades, jaw, etc. My right eye vision is worse than left eye, breathing through right nostril is often blocked, right ear feels a bit clogged most of the time, etc.

The groin pain though has been especially bad and I tried to fix it with hip surgery which didn't help. Which led me to an idea of checking my symptoms with the neurologist. And now I got this diagnosis.

I wonder if the above sounds like MS symptoms? I started reading about MS and see that people often have very specific episodes such as tremor, complete numbness, loss of coordination, etc. And it seems different from what I've been experiencing?

I will meet my doctor again in 4 weeks to finalize diagnosis and talk about treatment options. So far he mentioned I could try gabapentin or Lyrica to manage pain. And then we will talk about the treatment to prevent further development of MS. I asked him what would happen if I don't treat it and he replied that overall there's no way to know this for sure. I may be fine (i.e. have the same symptoms as I have now) but it also can get worse, so the treatment is like an insurance against potential problems when I get older. Honestly I don't know what to think about it right now. Planning to get second opinion too but wonder what the community here thinks based on their experiences?
