Luke's weekly commute time

Does anyone find it odd that Luke seems to complain so much about commuting a weekly total of about 6 hours (train is 2.5 hours each way from DS to NYC)? If you work a normal job (Monday-Friday) and drive 30 minutes each way... that is 5 hours right there. Not much difference. Not to mention that on longer train rides you can sit at a table in the galley and work on other things, eat breakfast, etc. It's not wasted time.

Plus how long is that Monday for him? The show is only 2 hours long. it's not like he's doing that commute and working 8 hours of manual labor at the destination. And why not just consider heading out Sunday evening and staying in a hotel in NYC so you don't have to disrupt your sleep so much?
