Game 100 Capitol Games-Part 1

Reaping

Irene Hix (maiden name al-Fayed) arrived in the Capitol to perform the reaping, which was being held in a lesser known area to avoid over publicizing it.

She looked around at the youths before seeming curious as to which ones she would be mentoring. She reached into the female bowl, reading aloud the name of twelve year old Amelia Crane.

Crying was heard as a smaller girl with long brown hair held in two plaits stepped forward, her blue eyes filled with tears. Amelia was allowed a moment to say goodbye to her parents and older brother before being brought to the stage.

The next female to be reaped was eighteen year old Lusitania Snow. A tall young lady with long blonde hair back in an elegant braided bun and blue eyes was spotted hugging her twin sister and two older brothers before stepping up to the stage.

Next Irene gasped when she removed the name of eighteen year old Carpathia Snow. Lusitania burst into tears as her twin sister said goodbye to their two horrified older brothers, and the sisters held hands for the rest of the reaping.

Seventeen year old Venia Jasper gasped when her name was called, turning to say goodbye to her parents and three older siblings. Venia had dark skin and frizzy dark hair. Venia also wore the fanciest dress of anyone in the crowd, a glittery pink dress.

Lastly for the females was fourteen year old Astraea Ravenstill, a cousin of Eugenia Ravenstill, former commentator and interviewer. Astraea had long jet black hair and said goodbye to her parents, older sister and older brother. Astraea was shaking as she stood next to Venia.

Irene walked over to the male bowl, seeming nervous as her nephew born to her brother was eligible for this reaping. She reached into the bowl and read aloud the name of eighteen year old Cadmus Dalton.

Excitement was had in the audience as a tall, muscular young man with dark skin and an afro was seen excitedly saying goodbye to his mother and three younger siblings. Cadmus was an illegitimate child of Ennius Dalton (Game 76) had during his open relationship with his wife.

Next up was eighteen year old Oedipus Fling, a nervous young man with bright ginger hair and green eyes. He wore an ostentatious rainbow suit and said goodbye to his parents and multiple siblings.

Next to be reaped was sixteen year old Pompey Breen, and a shorter young man with brown hair and wearing glasses was seen being wished luck by his mother and older siblings. Pompey was shaking as he stood next to the two older male tributes.

Thirteen year old Tax Sickle burst into tears when he was chosen, breaking down on stage and being comforted by Oedipus. Tax’s mother and older siblings seemed horrified that he was going into the Games. Tax had curly blonde hair and blue eyes.

The last tribute for Game 100’s Capitol Games turned out to be fifteen year old Pius Plinth, a descendant of Sejanus Plinth, who had created the idea of treating the tributes better alongside his friend and former President Coriolanus Snow.

Pius had dark brown curly hair and hazel eyes. He seemed upset to have been chosen, and said goodbye to his parents and eight siblings. The tributes were taken to the limo for a four hour drive to the Capitol.

Limo

Amelia and Tax were both in tears, with Oedipus staying with them and helping them calm down. Pius stared out the window as they left the reaping square, catching eyes with Astraea.

The two got into a conversation about their families back home, with both having familial ties to the 10th Hunger Games, which was one of two Games that ended with more than two victors due to the interference of the World Alliance.

Lusitania and Carpathia clung to each other, with Carpathia crying about not wanting either of them to die. Lusitania promised Carpathia that she would take care of her no matter what, calming Carpathia down somewhat.

Venia was seen reading a book about District 13, which had been a Capitol ally for a long time, while Pompey was reading a book about life in Pacifica. Cadmus sat down on the couch and studied his opponents, in particular seeming interested in allying with the twins, Carpathia and Lusitania.

Apartment

After the limo arrived at the apartment the tributes were separated into rooms by Irene, who did it in girl/boy pairs. Irene then visited each of her tributes one by one, learning of their skills and what they were best at.

Room 1-Amelia and Tax

Room 2-Lusitania and Cadmus

Room 3-Carpathia and Oedipus

Room 4-Astraea and Pius

Room 5-Venia and Pompey

Irene visited with Amelia and Tax first. She smiled at them and asked what they were good at. Amelia said that she was good at sewing, while Tax admitted to being best at running, being the fastest on the track team. Irene seemed pleased enough with this, but seemed unsure as to whether or not it was enough.

Lusitania and Cadmus both had experience with weaponry, with both having used the themed weapons before, which were pistols. Irene seemed very happy with these two tributes, telling them to train further with them during training.

Carpathia and Oedipus were visited next, with both seeming nervous. Irene asked them about their skills and seemed happy to learn about their work with daggers. She seemed to realize that Carpathia wouldn’t kill Lusitania, and that Oedipus seemed hesitant to kill as well.

Astraea and Pius were both quieter, with Irene having a hard time getting much out of either of them. They did both seem willing to kill to win; and Pius in particular said he wouldn’t let anything stand in his way. Astraea seemed to agree that she would do anything to see her family again.

Venia and Pompey both seemed to be smarter tributes. Venia had experience working with mutts while Pompey had experience with medicine and scientific studies.

Training

During training a one hour slot was made for Ennius Dalton to teach the tributes how to use a pistol. After teaching them safety and shooting skills Ennius sent them on their way.

Lusitania and Cadmus worked side by side with the pistols, and were soon joined by Carpathia and Oedipus. The four silently worked on their shooting skills, not speaking a word to each other.

Astraea and Pius worked with the daggers, throwing them at targets and practicing their stabbing skills. Venia worked in the animal station learning more about mutts, while Pompey worked in the medical station learning how to heal wounds.

Amelia and Tax worked together on setting a fire, before swinging on the monkey bars for a while. Both seemed to be having fun, and didn’t even seem to care that they had the biggest chance of dying out of all ten tributes due to their age and size.

Training was declared over by Ennius after seven hours, and the tributes were taken back to their apartments. The assessments/interviews would start the next evening at 6.

Assessments/Interviews

The judges for the District Games would be new commentator Euphemia Demigloss-Eu, former top Game Maker Artulia Fling-Ar, and victor of the 76th Hunger Games. Ennius Dalton-En.

Alongside the three of them would be two guest judges, the Game Maker for that particular District Games and the mentor for that District. The guest judges this time were Capitolite Game Maker Cleopatra Carlisle, along with Irene Hix.

Euphemia stated aloud that all ten tributes were related to a criminal Capitolite, making many in the crowd gasp. Euphemia announced that the interviews/assessments would begin with Amelia Crane.

Amelia walked out wearing a pink dress with puffed sleeves and ruffles. Amelia showed off her climbing skills and climbed the monkey bars, hanging upside down a few times. Amelia scored three 4s and one 3 and her total score was 4. Amelia’s interview went well, with Amelia talking about her older sister who had showed anti-Games sentiment and had been imprisoned with a one year sentence.

Amelia said that she hoped to make her family proud by winning the Games and her sister would hopefully be released early before her nineteenth birthday.

Next up was Cadmus, who wore a navy blue suit and showed off his pistol shooting skills. Cadmus seemed very confident as well making a good impression and scoring five 8s with a total score of 8. Cadmus’s interview went well with him particularly bantering with his father, Ennius.

Lusitania wore a baby blue dress that looked good with her eyes. Lusitania shot her pistol at targets and seemed very confident, similarly to Cadmus. She scored four 8s with one 7 from Cleopatra, with 8 being her total score. Lusitania’s interview was also went well with Lusitania having a strong personality.

Oedipus wore a fashionable orange suit and had a matching fedora on. He showed off his pistol skills and scored a unanimous 7. Oedipus talked about his boyfriend Daemon, and how he hoped to see him again soon.

Carpathia wore a pale pink dress and seemed much sweeter than her sister. Carpathia refused to mention killing her sister, but did shoot her pistol, earning three 6s and two 7s for a bit of a weaker pistol display, with a total score of 5.

Pompey wore a white and silver suit and talked about how he wanted to be a doctor one day. Pompey showed off his adequate knowledge of how to heal wounds and find medical plants and scored three 5s and two 6s, with a total score of 5.

Venia wore a dark green dress and talked about her life as a future zoologist. She said that she planned to win and start her career. Venia identified sixty real animals and found the fifteen fake ones, scoring three 6s and two 5s, with a total score of 6.

Tax came off as very sweet in his yellow suit, and he also had a bright smile on his face. Tax showed his ability to start a fire, ultimately scoring three 4s and two 2s, with a score of 4. He spent his interview discussing his family and how he hoped to make them proud.

Lastly for the females was Astraea, who wore a dark purple dress and had her black hair back in an elegant braided bun. Astraea spoke about being cousins with Eugenia Ravenstill, before showing off her dagger throwing skills. Astraea scored four 6s and one 7, the latter of which was Cleopatra, with a total score of 6.

Pius was the last tribute up and he wore a crimson suit. Pius showed off his dagger throwing skills, doing quite well and being scored with three 5s and two 6s, with a total score of 5. For his interview Pius discussed being a descendant of Sejanus Plinth, and how all he wanted was to prove himself and win.

Game Maker Cleopatra Carlisle made a brief speech about how her arena would be fanciful and show the luxuries that the Capitol had available to them. Many were excited for this arena, and wanted to see which female and male would come out on top.

The Last Night

Amelia lay down in her bed, quietly shaking as she fell asleep. Tax looked at a photo of his family, before tucking it into his nightshirt and falling asleep.

Lusitania and Cadmus agreed to an alliance, with Lusitania wanting to avoid Carpathia in the hopes that someone else would kill her. Lusitania called Carpathia and suggested they stay apart as long as possible, and Carpathia agreed.

Oedipus listened in to the twins’s conversation and sighed, offering an alliance to Carpathia, who agreed to ally with him. Oedipus turned on the television to Game 75, and he watched the actions of each tribute with Carpathia.

Astraea and Pius spent the night watching a few older Games, such as Game 11, Game 63, Game 64, Game 76, Game 80, and Game 99. Astraea seemed particularly curious that at least two had won each Games since the first ever Games.

Venia and Pompeii read a few books chronicling the victors of Games 1 to 25, Games 26 to 50, Games 51 to 75, and Games 76 to 99. Venia seemed to particularly like the sibling victors such as Willow and Tristan Terrace of Game 52 and the brother and sister in law pair Megan and Texas Hayes of Game 58, and liked several lovers pairs like Jonah and Fresca Fletcher of Game 42.

Pompey’s favorite victor pair was Cassius Heath of D2 and Elektra Johnson of D3, who won the first ever Hunger Games, while his second favorite victor pair was Rue Mellark of D12 and Neptune Dalton of D2, who both worked together until the end despite being from outlier and career Districts.

Launch Rooms

The next morning the tributes were fed a quick breakfast before being taken to the hovercraft. They had their trackers put in before being taken into their launch rooms upon arrival at the arena.

Females were dressed in fancy gowns and males were dressed in fancy suits. Irene visited each tribute in their launch rooms upon, hugging them and wishing them luck. At 11:58 AM, the tubes rose up into the arena.
