How to Tactfully Pass a Patron Along to Another Staff Member

I work in a library with a public desk that sits multiple staff members. One of the seats tends to get 90% of the questions because of how the desk is situated. I've noticed that staff tend to avoid sitting in this seat and I often end up there. I've also found some days that sitting in that seat will basically be an hour of answering patron questions non-stop with little help from the other staff in the other seats (mostly because the patron comes to this seat first with their question). It burns me out a bit to be in this position. Working with the public involves a bit of emotional labor and I feel like at the end of one of these hours I'm drained. I have asked my coworkers around me to take the question, but I don't want to give the impression that I'm not wanting to help the patron or that I'm bossing the coworker around. Basically, I feel like a bit of a wimp. Any advice for tactfully asking coworkers to help share the load in this type of situation? Thank you.
