Will Club Mysteries ever be worth it?

I'm super frustrated with Club Mysteries right now. I'm in a decent sized club that plays a lot, so we always get the hard ones. But only a handful of our members play CM, since it's a lot of effort for little reward. It's particularly irritating that given the 300 badge cap, once you're spending 14+ badges per scene it's nearly impossible to finish a 3 phase sector without spending gems on more badges.

This is a fairly new side game. Are they still tweaking the attributes? I sure hope so, because right now it's just not worth playing for the scant rewards you get.
