should i ask him out?😭

so my exams r going on and i was made to sit with this one guy and i thought he was really cute but more than that i think he’s really good at studies which is like a huge turn on for me since i love guys that r good at studies and have actual goals in life that they wanna pursue. anyway i talked to him and we had a really nice conversation.

and after that day i noticed that whenever i see him in the corridors he’s constantly looking at me and i wanted to look at him too just to say hi (because i dont wanna scare him by just tapping him on his shoulder to say hi😭) but whenever i looked at him he looked somewhere else. can someone pls too explain why guys do this

its honestly really frustrating cause he is always staring at me but whenever i do it back he looks somewhere else so like idk 😭 whats going on. i thought maybe i should approach him again but what if he thinks im a creep😭 lmaoo pls help needed

(its also a bit of now or never kind of situation since we both have different classes so idk. should i shoot my shot? :,)
