Need for Speed

So with various speed perks and a strawberry hardcandy im certainly faster than my buffalo and cart and faster than any of my terranus'.

Is it worthwile training up a speed MOA? is there any risk to constantly outrunning my cart/wolves? I havent had them die yet but am a little nervous to just leave them in the dust on long treks.
