What's the point of bounties?

I am new to hunt, when I extract with bounties I earn less experience and less money than rushing through the map looting wagons and the circus.

Bounties do not give KD and do little XP or money, I am new to the game, am I missing the point?

Yeah I know that doing bounties is fun and fighting bosses is very fun but from a perspective of a score it's not a good thing.

I am new to the game, please explain.
