Basement carpet discolouration

Hi, are the brown spots indicate any mold growing under ? Noticed these spots when we bought the house, I don’t remember it being that worse. I always thought it was just old carpet stains over time. But with humidity issue in the basement as you can see we have a dehumidifier, and a musty old smell. Now I’m worried. Any advice and input ?
