Jackson :(

I'm generally not one to criticize characters, but I'm on my like gazillionth rewatch and I'm on s2ep17. Jackson talks to Lorelai about Sookie and the wedding planning. He's obviously upset and I think that's fair, and to go to Lorelai makes sense. BUT! In the 24-hour dance marathon, he yells at Sookie and Lorelai for her getting involved in their relationship and lives. Why is it only okay for Jackson to involve Lorelai in stepping in, but Sookie can't even discuss life-changing events with her best friend?!?!
