I love magic systems.
I know some people don't like them and I completely get that. Gandalf could do just about anything to mcguffin his way through impossible odds, but it was fun because it was used sparingly.
But I love constraints, learning what those constraints are and then adhering to them rigidly. Even better when there are multiple constrained systems working against each other.
I do love Sandersons mistborn series for that reason, but not a huge fan of his other stuff. Not for the lack of good constraints, just because they're not as fun and interesting.
Just my thoughts. Completely happy for you to rip me a new one or share your thoughts. Would appreciate if the mods didn't get concerned about some healthy debate and lock the thread. Some people may down vote and get heated. That's fine.
