Is The Bitter Truth any good?

I still haven’t brought myself to listen to it 🙈. I’ve checked out the previews on iTunes but the songs aren’t clicking for me and I’m worried that it’s gonna be too heavy metal/hard rock for me.

My favourite Evanescence album is ‘Evanescence’, then Fallen, then The Open Door. Synthesis is last solely because it’s a compilation even though I love love love the reworks.

Is ‘The Bitter Truth’ anything like their previous albums? One thing I’ve loved about Evanescence is their strong melodies, the snippets I’ve heard of the bitter truth don’t seem melodic.

Is it as dramatic a shift as I’m expecting it to be or would it pleasantly surprise me given 2011’s Evanescence is my favourite album of theirs?
