Advice for Building Stompy?
Hey, all.
After a little over a year of EDH, my pod is looking to develop our mid range, big creatures, stompy high power commanders. I'd like to build a deck that can match (but not outpace) commanders like Hakbal and Gisath. I've noticed their kindred have a lot of support and can quite easily take over games with strong value engines stapled onto generically good cards that happen to just synergize with minimal effort.
My taste in deck building is pretty different from the direction we're heading, ranging from Grouphug / Card Advantage Hate to Multiple Combats to Storm / Combo. This means that unfortunately my lists are either too jank to keep up with the smash face strategy, too controlly, or otherwise too aggressive in their execution. I know two ways of winning, bursting someone down or going infinite and nuking the table. Neither seem to be received well.
I hope to hear about other people's deck list recommendations. As it stands, my current commander rotation includes [[Adamaro, the First to Desire]], [[The Archimandrite]], [[Neera, Wild Mage]], [[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]], [[Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor]], and [[Raff, Weatherlight Stalwart]]. The projected table meta has light stax, free spells, and hardcore staples like rhystic, smothering tithe, etc.
