I'm so confused!

I was recently in a server for a few rounds and I was switching in between skin tones, because I thought it would make my ✨vision✨ look better. After about 4 rounds, people in the chat were like, '' Why do keep switching colors?" or "GIRL PICK ONE" so I said "Am I not allowed to?'' and someone said it could be "offensive" to people in the chat. I left the server and went to free-play to do what I wanted to do with my fits. Was I being offensive, because I'll stop immediately!!

P.S. Don't know if it's important but I'm literally mixed so I personally don't see a problem with what I was doing.
