A different perspective on Indian fans

I'm an Australian who has been travelling India for the past 3 weeks, quite often wearing my Australian cricket shirt. I obviously get a fair bit of attention being a tall white man, quite often getting asked to have photos with people and asked where I'm from (both when I am and am not wearing the shirt lol) and of course just about every conversation turns to cricket and the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

I have honestly been blown away by how humble every single one of them has been. During the series, they appreciated the battle. After Australia won, they were full of praise and didn't seem to mind at all that India had lost. I always say thank you and congratulations on holding it for 10 years, and again they're just super humble. They love it when I compliment Bumrah, and laugh when I say Kohli is a loser. Ricky Ponting has come up the most for their favourite Australian.

There's obviously a lot of carry on from both countries on social media, and the flogs absolutely deserve to be called out. But let's just remember that social media isn't real life, and at the end of the day we're all just people who love the game of cricket.
