How necessary is 10-15 sprays?
I cringe every time I see someone say they take their brand new fragrance and spray it 10-15 times and put it away to allow it to macerate. Is that many sprays necessary for the process? It just seems SO wasteful.
I get maceration and I get that fragrances (middle eastern dupes) need time to develop into what it’s supposed to be. But is 10-15 sprays necessary? Isn’t there already air in the bottle? It’s not vacuum sealed, nor was it made in space- so it’s already exposed to some oxygen, right? Can’t you just buy it and let it sit while the maceration process occurs, and MAYBE, if you need to, only spray it like 2-3 times in the air before putting it away?
I saw that some people even remove the nozzles to speed up the process. Is that not overkill?
I don’t buy middle eastern dupes anyway, but I’d like to know the deal behind the number of times needed to spray to begin maceration.
!!! I’m not saying that I am right and that others are wrong either. I am simply in search of the truth- and these are just my thoughts!!!
If you reply with an answer, can you back up what you are saying with a credible link? I’m not going to believe just anyone because how would I know if you’re a kid getting your info from TikTok, or if you are a master perfumer with a phd in maceration, or the creator of Xerjoff himself. Give me those credible links below!
