Can I pay off a Hire purchase finance early?

I am about to finance for the first time, most likely through Hire purchase so I had a few questions.

Can I pay off my HP early when I have the money and will it stop me paying the rest of the interest which is added in to the total price when paying monthly?

Also is there a certain point I have to wait for until I can pay the rest off and make the car mine officially?
