Is it weird to like wearing black shoes with white socks in this country?

My mom and my lil sis always says it's weird for me to wear black shoes with white socks. I'm so confused because what's wrong with it?? They say I should wear skin colour socks instead but I think white socks looks better with black shoes? My mom also say I'm a Japanese wannabe for this. Yes, I watch anime, but that has nothing to do with me liking to wear black shoes with white socks and I'm certainly not a Japanese wannabe. Anime doesn't even portray students wear white socks with their school shoes that much, I see they wear black socks more.
