Unpopular Opinion: Gold pets are overrated

I hate to be that person, and as much as I've tried liking golden pets, they're kinda.. ugly, to me.

The color doesn't scream gold, even with the glowing effect. And it just looks so plain. I like the patterns and colors pets can have. Those markings emphasize the details. But the golden pets? There's not even a little contrast. I did buy a token as a possible gift for someone, but that's it.
