i saw the special screening of sing sing tonight & this movie is absolutely my favorite of the year (in the past year since we’re in jan lol) wow. what a profound and moving movie. the panelists that spoke after were the previously incarcerated individuals that played themselves in the film & they really brought light to how much the prison system needs to be reformed. it was also so touching and incredible to hear their stories on how this program truly helped heal and reform them. they heavily touched on how only THREE PERCENT of those in these programs re-offended. that is a huge huge statistic to show that these types of programs really do work!! i wish a24 didn’t drop the ball with this one, because everyone should experience it. it’s truly amazing!!! easy 5 stars for me & has me really thinking deeply about what i can do to make a difference
