Character Ideas for a Spellcaster

Hi!
I really just need character ideas.
I usually try and go for Bard, Wizard, or Cleric since I don't really like any of the other classes. Any ideas would be great.
Edit: I usually go for something like Tabaxi, Owlin, or Aarakocra as the race that I choose. I prefer to stay out of front-line combat and just blast the enemies from afar. I tend to also like to have a little bit of healing from somewhere just in the event of an emergency.
