Pharmacies near me saying Zenzedi is being discontinued?

I wanted to post this here to see if anyone else is being told the same thing or knows anything about this. My doctor sent the prescription in about a week ago, and it kept saying it was out of stock and changing the date it would be filled. I spoke to the pharmacy who told me it was on backorder and that the distribution didn't have an indication about whether it's in stock or whether it's discontinued.

So I called the manufacturer about this and they told me it was completely available and it's not being discontinued. They told me to give the pharmacy the ndc number and to have them call the wholesaler and request that they stock it. So I passed that along.. contacted the pharmacy again and they said that they found out Zenzedi is being discontinued or "phased out" and they wouldn't be able to order it anymore. I called azurity again and they said it's definitely not discontinued.. I tried a different pharmacy that has been able to get medications more quickly in the past. I spoke to the pharmacist and she said it's on backorder and there is no date for when it will be available again, and usually there is. She said when that happens, usually it's because the medication is being discontinued, and that they will likely never be able to order it again.

So what's going on? Is there any possibility that the person I spoke to wasn't aware of it being discontinued? I asked if it was possible for them not to be aware of it yet when I called, but he said he would definitely know..

I was able to have the authorized generic ordered, but if Zenzedi is discontinued this authorized generic might be gone eventually too. Does anyone know whether Zenzedi is really being discontinued??
