Mario kart online

i play super smash melee on slippi and there is an online functionality with good player base. now i want to play mario kart. i've seen that yuzu emulates local LAN, not sure what is that supposed to be like, but can mario kart 8 be played online at yuzu with many players online? if it isn't that good, what is the best way to play a mario kart online through emulators? not necessarily mario kart 8 or yuzu, just the most "alive" way to play it regardless of which mario kart game or emulator.
