Is Yugioh about to undergo another big shift

Curious about people’s thoughts about the current state of the game and the direction it’s headed in. To me it feels like we’re in uncharted territory, in that apart from the upcoming Card Game Chronicles miniseries, we likely won’t be continuing with a weekly anime series as of March this year (unless they’re waiting for the end of Go Rush to announce something).

If they don’t, Yugioh will be in a very weird place as there won’t be anything to really promote either the OCG/TCG or Rush Duel. Again, I know we have Card Game Chronicles but that’s only going to be one episode per month.

Do you think Konami will surprise us with the next set Duelist Advance and drop something big like a new card type or summoning mechanic, even despite there not being a corresponding anime series to show it off? We know it’s very likely going to be a green set as it has “Duelist” in the name so likely it will be the start of booster series 13, but something just feels very off to me. They’ve said it will feature cards from Chronicles, but why did they need to end the previous booster series to do this if not for something bigger? They’ve been supporting older archetypes in new sets for years, so I don’t really see the point in ending series 12 early for the new Sky Striker/Albaz support unless something big is coming. What are people’s thoughts on this?
