The S4 Build
I had ordered all of the STi components for the VB S4 build that’s only available in Japan. There all available through a number of resellers (got mine through SMY Performance). I got them all installed yesterday and have some pretty positive first impressions after 100 miles.
The complete kit is front and rear draw stiffeners, transmission mount, pitch stop, rear lower control arms with toe kit. I already had the short shift kit when I bought it and already added the tower bar.
There is a noticeable difference with shifting, positive feel and even there was little to no lag previously, it improved the 1-3 transition feel. The NVH is a minor bump but not at all that great (I do have an ETS catback setup so that might be masking anything).
The tire contact on turns and especially on cambered turns is improved - using stock suspension it really plants the wheels on curves and oddly feels smoother - the toe kit and and arms have different bushings so it’s probably that effect.
It’s a worthwhile upgrade overall that gives it more character and driver feel. I wouldn’t recommend the rear arms and toe kit it if you plan on lowering with wider tires as there’s little to no adjustability for camber.
I really wish they would’ve just added this as an options package.
