Why is writing so hard?

I was on my third edit of my manuscript on my Nintendo ds earlier, and it occurred to me that using a stylus to type out all of my work seems inefficient. How do the rest of you manage typing novels with your ds? Newbie writer here, I can’t quite seem to figure it out.
