How to survive writing on books

Friends, I got ideas but it's hell trying to write without a laptop. The shit drives you crazy, little to no on time research. I have had ideas of what my novel would look like but I can't get past chapter one. Hell yeah I got the notes and the flow it would follow but it's all vain. Never knew it was this hard to write without a laptop. Am I really not serious or committed that I would assume a laptop plays a huge role in a writers success? And before you ask why I don't have one we all ain't the same financially. So am hoping to get some ideas on how to manage writing without a laptop.
