How to make this be possible in an island?

Okay so, keeping title simple. I have a lore for my OCs, kinda of half fantasy. A group of witch cursed three hunters with some "element", so instead of hunting, they protect. We have the land, sky and sea protectors, blah blah blah...

Anyway now, the original island I made a few years ago was basically just a square land of tropical forest. There was a big temperate forest in the east part around the shore, though, and a tall mountain by the west with a small human village (detail, It snows). There's some lakes and rivers scattered around, and a beach on the north, some stones and etc etc

now the main question... Can temperate forests even somehow be near a tropical one? The main part of the worldbuild is that the tribe from the pinetrees (people with wings, falcon to be specific ) have a war with a tribe by the north (of tropical folks, kinda of macaws or parrots, those sort of birbs)

I thought of it yesterday, when I was going to remake everything... Can this even be possible? If it helps, though i don't work with numbers, I thought that the island takes around a week to cross on foot for the size, (like France, apparently). I searched some things up and not only temperate can't be around tropical, the temperate forest apparently also can't be on shores (Dunno if that's true, never heard of it).

Sool, can I make pinah folks war with the oxia folks? I don't really wanna give up from one of them or just give it to the "fantasy, anything works" argument...
