Help me understand the psychological games my coworkers are playing with people

I have a group of coworkers who play a psychological game in the work place. I am going to update this thread each week because I do not know what they are doing and need help understanding what they are doing and why.

Week of January 12 to January 18 2025

Monday and Tuesday involved they walk up near me and start a conversation and they have the conversation in a way where they are trying to have me jump in. If I jump into the conversation they will ignore me. If a coworker who is participating in this with them would come up and do the same thing they would include the coworker in the conversation.

When I am working at a table / work bench they will find a task to do in the area I am in and interact with an object and then position themselves in a way that says they are communicating with their body language to me but are not saying anything. The task involves an object related to the work I do and again their objective is to have me start the conversation and will either not reply or will give a dumb response of “huh” a pretend that they are not doing anything.

The example when you have a younger child who has done something like stealing and is hiding their hands behind their back when an adult is questioning them because the adult knows something is wrong in the room and is investigating to figure out what went wrong in the room.
