Mdf quality

Hi again everyone. Wondering if any of you have tried mdf from big box stores as well as “premium” mdf from the hardwood/sheet goods dealer. And what about HDF? My local dealer carries HDF -90$/sheet Premium mdf - 85$ And the box stores have their mdf for 50$/sheet. Im building a 3’x 5’ torsion box workbench and im torn on which material to use. I feel like the HDF might be the best option for this purpose, but I just feel like it can’t be THAT much better for a torsion box than regular Lowe’s mdf.

Ps the hardwood dealer has Baltic birch for 230$ per 4’x8’ sheet, so they might just be overpriced in general.
