New plane: is this normal/fixable?

Just bought a Stanley Bailey 160 block plane. My first plane.

The edge of the mouth is thicker on one side than the other. This means the blade comes out at an angle. Blue is thicker than red.

Is this normal, and something I should expect to file down myself? (I know there is a reasonable amount of prep required with new planes). Or is this a major issue, and I should just return it for another?

Any help appreciated.
