A book about food science and how processed food is manufactured to taste so good it becomes addictive
I read this book in high school and I can’t think of the name. I remember it talked about how foods like Cheetos and chips are designed in labs with food scientists making formulas for the perfect taste. They would even see how foods taste on different parts of the tongue and how foods needed the perfect crunch or mouthfeel. And processed foods are specifically manufactured to be addictive. I remember at the end the author interviewed one of the food scientists for lunchables talked about a photo he has of his daughter on her wedding day and she was holding a lunchables. And then he went into how lunchables have traces of toxic chemicals especially from the packaging and the packaging of course does not degrade and it fills up landfills.
