Vengeance Most Fowl Review

10 reasons I did not like Vengeance Most Fowl

  1. Macintosh aging implies a fixed timeline rather than a floating timeline.

Over the course of the timeline Macintosh has gone from having a comb over (only in flashbacks in the new movie) to being bald with a brown mustache (Curse of the Were Rabbit), to having a gray mustache (modern day). This then leads to questions about why hasn't Wallace aged at all since The Wrong Trousers? How is Gromit even alive or still young (dogs only live 12 years)? Also, I always assumed Macintosh and Wallace were the same age due to the deleted scene for The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

  1. The character assassination of Wallace.

Wallace is portrayed as if he cannot function without technology, while that is never a problem he has in any other movie.

  1. The stakes have not been raised.

Over the course of the series the stakes have always been raised: the robot does not want to harm Wallace or Gromit just stop them from eating the moon, Feathers is willing to kill Wallace and Gromit in order to get the diamond, Preston is willing to not only frame Gromit for mass murdering sheep, but also turn Wallace, Gromit, and Wendolene into Dog Food, Victor wants to kill Wallace to increase his odds with Lady Tottington, and is a serial killer who wants to kill Wallace to finish her bakers dozen, instead of any change such as vengeance as implied in the title Feathers just wants the diamond and is willing to kill to get it exactly the same as The Wrong Trousers.

  1. Why are there Flashbacks of Macintosh during The Wrong Trousers?

It is strange to incorporate him into a movie he was never in and was never supposed to be in.

  1. Why doesn't Wallace have a love interest?

He had a love interest in every movie since A Close Shave (Wendolene (ACS), Tottington (CotWR), Piella (AMoLaD)).

  1. What happened to Macintosh?

I cannot remember every scene he was in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, but he was not a borderline corrupt cop who is willing to send people to jail to avoid work due to just wanting to be done and retire already. Also, why is he now an antagonist to Wallace. They get along in the past.

  1. Feathers did not get punished for his evil actions this time.

The robot was not a bad guy, Feathers got arrested the first time, Preston got turned from an anthropomorphic dog into a more realistic dog after being crushed in a dogfood machine, Victor was chased out of town by an angry mob, Piella was eaten by an alligator, why did Feathers just get away in this one. Is he going to come back in Wallace and Gromit 7 and try to get the diamond again? I know he did not get the diamond and therefore he lost, but he still escaped any consequences.

  1. Norbit's Army

Why if he made his army after being hacked, did the army have good as the default setting instead of evil?

  1. Wallace and Gromit are actual criminals.

In the previous movies they never intentionally committed a crime or an unjustified crime (Wallace broke Gromit out of jail which was justified and Feathers forced Wallace to be an accomplish to stealing the diamond which is unintentional). In this movie, Wallace and Gromit are wanted for stealing the diamond so they chase down Feathers to clear their names. Feathers steals a boat, so Wallace and Gromit steal and hot wire a boat to continue chasing Feathers McGraw down. Also, Wallace and Gromit destroy stolen objects on the boat to make an invention that throws stolen boots at Feathers. At this point they should just have discussed how they were framed with the police, after all there was no evidence in Wallace's house it was pretty clear he was innocent and if the police went to the zoo they would have seen Feathers escaped.

  1. The Van is colored differently.

Why is the van now beige instead of the classic blue? That was just a weird continuity issue the could have easily been fixed.

Bonus: Farmer's cameo was pointless unnecessary fanservice which leads to more questions about why nobody in Shaun the Sheep speaks understandable English.
