At what distance are we actually looking?
I'm interested in getting VR, and would like to know above question and how it feels to do VR after looking at screens 8-9 hours a day for work. These are at a distance of roughly 60-80 cm, and I really feel like after that, I want to relax my eyes by focusing on a different distance, just to relax them and relieve eye strain, i.e. use different eye muscles. Looking at the horizon for example, feels great.
Now I know the actual screens in all of these headsets are only cm's from your eyes, but due to the lenses the focal distance will be different. For Quest 3, e.g., it says 4 feet, which is about 120 cm I guess, which is a little different, but I'm not sure how much.
Does anyone have any experience with this? How does it compare to just keeping looking at a laptop screen? Do your eyes feel better when switching from screen to VR? Or does it just double up on the eye strain?
Cheers, T
