My re-redesign of the Illinois state flag! (symbolism below!)

blue: symbolizes the vast prairie sky and the waters of lake Michigan and the mississippi river (our two most important waterways)

yellow: corn, obviously! we are well known for our corn. it also symbolizes the sand banks along the lake michigan and mississippi river coasts, but mostly it symbolizes the insane amount of corn here.

green: farmland. 75% of illinois land is used for farming, mostly corn, so it would be criminal to not include it in the flag redesign (looking at you, centennial flag)

red star: one of the four red stars from the chicago (our largest and most influential city) flag. chicago is VERY important to illinois, so there’s a reason it’s the main focus!

not perfect by any means, especially the star being wonky, but i changed it up from the first time with more contrasting colors and a brighter yellow.
