I almost got kidnapped last night…
I drive Dallas-Fort Worth at night time full time. I took a ride to an outskirt town and wasn’t looking forward to driving back to the main city deadhead. I decide to pull around the corner from where I just dropped my passenger and wait for a ride for a minute. I was parked in front of a random house more than 5 less than 10 mins playing on my phone when my cab is lit up by reverse lights of a truck directly in front of me. It’s 3-4 am and I assume this guy is trying to park in front of his own house and that I’m in his way as he immediately backs too close to my car. I start to back up to get out of his way, but he keeps getting closer even tho I’ve given him plenty of space to park. I get confused and worried he somehow didn’t see me still in his way, so I flash my brights and then hold down my horn when I see he’s still aggressively backing toward me. I’m realizing now that this is a tow truck trying to get the bar under the front of my car to lift up my wheels WHILE IM IN IT AND TRYING TO DRIVE AWAY. I move to pull forward around the truck, the truck quickly accelerates and blocks the entire road in front of me. I reverse and go the opposite direction, take off running stop signs to get away. I was perfectly legally parked, lights on obviously in the car. He did pursue me, that wasn’t his house. It was NOT my car people after their asset. This was literally a random tow truck driver trying to capture me and my car in the middle of the night 😭👀 if his lights weren’t so bright, he would have had me hooked up easily as I was so engrossed in my phone.
