TWW3 IE 2 Player Co-op Campaign - Suggestions for players with different skill/experience levels

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to get a friend into Total War Warhammer 3 by doing an IE co-op campaign together. He is going to purchase the base game trilogy and I own all of the DLC for all 3 games. So those would be the factions available to each of us.

The tricky part is that I normally play on legendary with normal battle difficulty, but he obviously wouldn't have a fun time in his first campaign. I was thinking about doing the co-op campaign on hard with normal battle difficulty, since he has played a few hours in other Total War games before.

Now I'm looking for ideas which factions might bring a good amount of balance and enjoyment for both of us. Ideally I would be looking for a very hard faction for myself and a very easy faction for him. Also the starting positions shouldn't be too far apart so I could help him if necessary. I'm open to suggestions about different difficulty settings as well. Another option would be to give myself some artificial modifiers/challenges.

Basically I'm open to any ideas how we could create a challenging campaign for both of us at the same time. Maybe some of you have been in a similiar situation before.
