Strange lost book.

I am making a post regarding an old book and any possible information about it. About 7 years ago, in 2017, I had an elderly friend let me borrow this one of a kind book. The book was green, with no words on the outside at all, and not very long but definitely had at least 100 pages. Inside was the documentation of somebody that survived the event, recounting everything that happened that night. Now at the time I was younger and didn't have the time to go through it and gave it back without reading. This person passed away, and all of their belongings went to either their children or, I'm assuming, the dump (big containers outside their house after passing with a lot of furniture and other stuff in it). I believe this book is very important for historical and research purposes, and I'm wondering if there is anybody who could possibly know anything about it. I live in Maine if that is important to you. I will attach what I remember it looking like in an illustration.
