Warning about a soft-lock with a robbie quest

Hey so,

When you're doing the quest for the SHrine Sensor, there's a risk of getting locked in his room with no way to escape. According to a youtube video I saw you need to talk to the robot on his desk, but the prompt to to the robot isn't showing up. I'm not exactly sure what caused it but I'm like 80% sure it's because I completed the nearby shrine before hand.

Edit: Nope definitely not because I completed the shrine, reloaded the save from before I even activated the shrine and I'm still trapped.
