Issues with car play

Picture for attention. When I plug my phone in car play will work for 5-10 minutes and then cut out and stop. My phone will keep charging but my directions will be on my phone and not the cars screen. I’ve asked my dealership to look at it when it was there for service, they told me it was an issue with my phone. The thing is my brother and friends who have different phones (newer iPhones) have the same issue when they plug their phones into my car.

I’ve tried googling to see what the issue could be but didn’t find anything. Does anyone have this same issue or have any suggestions? Thanks!
