With a computer or similar device, when is it called a "freeze" vs a "crash"?

I usually say it "froze" if it takes only a reboot to make it work again and the already saved data is still intact.

My definition of a "crash" is either losing already saved data (an error that occurs during a save, causing a corrupted file, counts) or, you need to reset all settings to default, or worse, reinstall the program or operating system.
