The Warren Cabin

I’m at the part of the psi mission where you have to work round the swamp to reach this cabin that just so happens is guarded by a mutant, (can’t remember what it’s called), but to make it worse I always seem to get an emission happen as I reach that cabin and there isn’t any shelter anywhere near by and I can’t exactly inspect my PDA while being chased by the mutant.

Is this a normal occurrence with that mission or am I being fisted?
