Career advice

Currently in my 5th sem of B.tech. Will be graduating in may 2026.

Few months back came to know about cgl and posts offered through this examination. Since then gave around 15-20 mocks(mostly 2023 tier 1 and testbook free tier 1 mocks) during my free time and diwali vacation to know where I stand. I am scoring around 125-135 without any preparation in these mocks. I just observed the pattern of questions, solved accordingly and improved. I solve around 20-22 questions in reasoning and english(Thanks to english series watched during these 3 years of college and studied in english medium background), 17-18 questions in quant(can easily solve 21-22 if i get 5-7 more minutes in quant) and 5-6 questions in gs (Only watched one video about classical dance forms of india of parmar ssc). I have around 90-95 % accuracy.

Now I am less interested in coding and campus placements of our batch will start from june-july of 2025 and average package in our course is around 6 lpa with 70-80 % placement rate.

I recently came across article saying about implementation of 8th pay commission in 2026 and with that the in hand salary(before tax) of 4600 gp post would reach around 1 lakh per month including allowances(considering fitment factor of 1.92). Now this is equivalent to highest package offered through campus placement in our college.

Now what should I do, focus on upcoming placement season or start full fledged preparation of ssc cgl ?
