Did I make a mistake choosing my board?
Hey there! After months of research I finally got the quintessential hyped up board, known by everyone, the WARPIG. I wanted a volume shifted board because after renting standard boards for years, this new shape looked cool to my eyes and being a shorter guys I found the idea of being able to size down very convenient.
Anyways: I thought I wanted an all mountain board, more focused in riding groomers and very little to no park, and no butters (since I wasn’t very good at it and my skiier buddies didn’t want to go park either). I thought I was an intermediate rider, but I had a lot of bad habits and fell a lot, wasn’t able to control my speed without skidding, etc.
Now that I have my board here and have tried it for a couple of days in the snow: I LOVE IT, that’s why I don’t think I really made a mistake because I feel comfortable with it. The thing is, now that I ride better, I have better control and posture, I have been going to the park and I had a lot of fun with the rails. Now I want more! I also love trying butters and jumps everywhere.
I have heard that this board might not be the best for it. Should I have gone with a different option, like a Huck Knife or some mid flex, camber, twin tip?
At least I am happy I did not choose a stiffer board or any of the alternatives I thought before buying the Warpig (K2 Excavator/Party Platter, Dancehaul, Ride Psychocandy).
What do you think? For the moment I think I will shredd the hell out of the Warpig until it falls apart, but I’d like to know if I would have felt the difference with a camber, more “poppier” flexible board (not that I cannot pop with the Warpig).
