Struggling to Find My First Student – Any Tips?
I've been tutoring high school math and physics subjects, including both courses and standardized tests. I have experience teaching a broad range of courses, from pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC and AP Physics, and have taught over 100 students this year, including this summer.
I hold a Ph.D. in engineering from Princeton University. While this is my side job, my pay is only a quarter of what the institution charges the students. This disparity is why I want to start my own tutoring business.
I have tried many channels to find students, including:
- Facebook groups
- Posting Business cards and flyers on community boards
- Word of mouth
Despite my efforts over the past six months, I haven't been able to find a single student. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how I can find my first student? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
